Rigging six feet up the tree is really hard on the tree.
This smaller tree is fighting for its life, growing out of crack in the rock. It doesn't need the stress of this high anchor.

Two bad anchors don't equal one good one.
This 7 MM cord is sawing over that edge every time the rope is weighted, even every time the belayer takes up rope. The other anchor is identical.

Why static rope is a good idea.
Webbing is a pain. All they work and they came up an inch short. I can see adding the third anchor because the other two are well over 90 degrees apart, but an unattached rock might not be the best choice.

See how much the block overhangs the cliff? That has increased over time, it used to be flush with the cliff face.
