Spring brings them out.

I know it is a big rock but it is attached to absolutely nothing. Does slinging the tiny rock below it help?

Good placements, but gear anchors are highly prone to breaking this rock. They survived.

Tensionless anchor? Well, almost.

Only one anchor is really working.

That may be a good thing since the second anchor is on the tiny curved tree growing out of the rock.

Does the big tree make the anchor stronger?

This is one of two anchors. You really don't need the tiny cams, the large tree will do.

An anchor that takes the system over 90 degrees actually weakens the system.

Video victims.

Piles of extra rope, but they use runners and carabiners, adding 4 unnecessary links to the chain. Oh, and don't strangle the tiny tree.

Sure, take the dead trunk

They locked the Carderock latrine after the first weekend.

Single 9/16 sling for an anchor. They wanted to run the rope over the car mats, they missed.

There is a nice live trunk but they went with the dead one.
