The micro nut makes it all good.

The webbing around sharp blocks isn't too bad. The rope around the tiny tree could be better, but...

the tiny nut makes it all better, right?

The call of the dead tree.

Why single strand webbing is a bad idea. Look how close those sharp crystals are.

That's 7MM cord clipped to the climbing rope with a single carabiner. The rope is dragging across the top.
A single carabiner and close hitch. The climber knows the clove hitch isn't stable, that's why heated the figure 8. Learn to tie a bowline.

I had just said that people weren't using the dead tree anymore, so much for that idea.

They couldn't hold onto it long enough to het to the parking lot.

You can lead a horse to water...

Gate down so it can be opened by the rock.

This is call a Yard Sale, lay out everything you own and clip it together. The tree on stilts is a nice touch

How to cut your rope.

The good news, it's a fat rope. The bad news, it is going to saw across the edge , back and forth, every time it is weighted. Putting it over the horizontal would have ben better, and kind of padding would help, though it might not stay in place. The Carderock Rope Condom, 1 " tubular webbing slid over the rope would be best, but the real solution is don't be dumb. If I find a cure for that I will bottle it and sell it.

Not as bad as it looks, maybe.

Webbing around a tree hanging on for dear life.

Brand new rope defying the laws of physics, attempting to rip out trees.

The anchor rope goes from the corner at right, through a cam in the crack, so many things to go wrong.

The bright red anchor rope isn't in the bottom of the carabiner, that's the tail of the knot. You could hear the ropes rubbing together, but nothing is going to melt.

When in doubt, make it a big knot. The quick draws hanging there are a mystery.

It's either a tennsionless anchor or an Egyptian mummy.

REI wants to sell you 8mm cord as a top rope anchor. The tensionless anchor seems to be working but it is still a good idea to tie off the end. Look at all those sharp edges the cords are running over. The green was completely slack, leaving all the weight on the other cord.
