Why?
Everybody used to know that bowlines REALLY need the end tied off, people got killed. Increasingly, people aren't doing it. Unclear where this is coming from, any ideas?
To be fair, that's a loooong tail, and basically a friction wrap, so not too big of a deal in this particular case. The larger point is definitely a growing problem though.
