The old climbing rope attaches the rappel line on the left to the climbing rope anchors on the right, but not really.

I love how they tied the tail ends of the yellow and green runners together.

I think they started with the runner, then asked themselves what to do with the tail

 An actual overhand loop, maybe someday they'll use it on something bigger than 6 inches.
